NON-EU CITIZENS

Passengers travelling as non-EU nationals must carry a valid passport and may be required to present it at check-in, security screening, boarding and on arrival.

Entry, visa, and transit requirements vary depending on your nationality, destination, and itinerary. Passengers are responsible for ensuring they hold all required travel documents and meet all immigration and entry requirements for their destination and any transit points, including any required visas, residence permits or supporting documentation.

Please note that visa-free travel does not guarantee entry. Border authorities may request additional supporting documents, such as proof of return or onward travel, accommodation details, or evidence of sufficient funds.

Children must travel with their own valid passport or other accepted travel document, where applicable.

IMPORTANT: Entry/Exit System (EES) for travel to the Schengen Area

The European Union has introduced the Entry/Exit System (EES) for non-EU nationals travelling for short stays (up to 90 days in any 180-day period) to or from the Schengen Area.

Under EES, passport stamps are being gradually replaced by an electronic record of entry and exit. At border control, travellers may be asked to provide their passport details, fingerprints, and a facial image, especially on their first trip after the system is introduced.

EES is now in operation across the Schengen Area, although border procedures may vary depending on the airport or border crossing point.

We recommend allowing extra time at border control, especially when travelling for the first time under EES.

TRAVELLING TO THE UK

If you hold a UK visa and use a biometric residence permit (BRP) or card (BRC) to prove your immigration status, access your eVisa before you travel on GOV.UK. If you already have an eVisa, make sure your travel document is registered to your account.

If you do not need a visa to visit the UK for short stays of up to six months, you will need an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA).

Eligible visitors should apply for their ETA through the UK ETA app, which is quick and simple to use and enables most applicants to receive a decision within hours. For more information see:  Apply for an electronic travel authorisation (ETA).

Important: From 12 October 2025, the EU is introducing the Entry/Exit System (EES) for non-EU visitors. You’ll need to provide biometric data at border control. More info: travel-europe.europa.eu
