If you have booked your flight directly through our website or mobile app, you can purchase a preferred seat via Manage My Booking up to 24 hours prior to departure. Select the Manage Booking option on the KM Malta Airlines website homepage and enter your booking reference and last name to modify or add your extras.
If you do not purchase a seat in advance in Manage My Booking, a random seat will be automatically allocated during online check-in*. You may keep this randomly assigned seat or choose to change it to another available seat for a fee, if applicable.
*Only applicable on certain routes.
Due to international safety regulations, the following passengers are not eligible for seats in the emergency exit row or seats 1C and 1D:
- Infants and children under 12 years of age
- Expectant mothers
- Unaccompanied minors
- Passengers with reduced mobility
- Passengers travelling with pets in cabin
- Individuals with vision or hearing impairments, restricted comprehension, or those unable to reach an exit unaided
- Passengers requiring an extension seat belt
- Passengers unwilling to assist in the case of an emergency evacuation
For emergency exit row seat, the final allocation can only be completed during check-in to ensure all passengers meet safety and operational requirements.
We will endeavour to honour advance seating requests. However, we cannot guarantee any particular seat. The airline reserves the right to assign or reassign seats at any time, even after boarding of the aircraft. This may be necessary for operational, safety or security reasons.
Seat charges are non-refundable.
If you’ve already purchased a seat, you may change it to a different one at any time by paying the full cost of the new seat. To do this, simply chat with us or contact our Customer Service Centre on +356 2135 6000.
If you’ve been randomly allocated a seat at check-in, you may also choose a different seat for a small fee, if applicable.
For Economy passengers, if you choose not to pay to reserve a specific seat, your seat will be automatically assigned to you free of charge when you check-in online.*
You may keep your assigned seat or you may also choose to change your assigned seat to a preferred one for an additional fee, if applicable, during online check-in.
Passengers travelling together on the same PNR/booking will be assigned seats together, subject to availability at time of online check-in.

If passengers are travelling with a child and/or an infant, seats will be assigned in accordance with applicable safety regulations. If passengers choose to change their randomly assigned seats for a fee, each child or infant must be seated next to an accompanying adult. Please note that two infants cannot be seated in the same row.
If the selected seating does not comply with these requirements, seats will be reassigned accordingly.
